A Warning Against Kratom
The FDA has made it clear that they do not like that Kratom is a legal substance and that they would prefer it to be scheduled as a drug. Many states have passed legislation called the Kratom Consumer Protection Act, that legalizes kratom and sets up guidelines for companies to follow, clarifying labeling standards, marketing practices, and more.
Kratom is legal to sell and consume in all the US except the following states, cities and counties:
Alabama, Arkansas, Indiana, Rhode Island, Vermont, Wisconsin, Sarasota County (FL), Columbus  Union County, (MI), Denver (CO), San Diego; Oceanside counties (CA); Alton, Jerseyville, Edwardsville County (IL), Ontario, OR.
Even though Kratom sales and consumption are legal in most of the US, making any medical claims about it is not.
We would like to warn you about any information on Kratom that you read anywhere. The least reliable sources of information are uncurated blogs. The most reliable are original peer reviewed scientific articles published in reputable scientific journals. Even then, we warn you to be critical of the information you read (scientists can make mistakes too) and always consult with your licensed health professional.
